Located in San Francisco's vibrant Mid-Market neighborhood, Montesacro is the first Roman Pinseria Romana to open in the US
Montesacro is the name of a neighborhood of Rome, a hardscrabble working class quarter, like many others affected by the aftermath of the Second World War. Our goal is to pay an homage to those days and to the people who lived throughout that tumultuous time.
We take inspiration from the classic "fraschette" of Lazio, old taverns where originally they only served the famous wine of the region, usually poured straight from the barrel, while patrons sat down on benches along long wooden tables, bringing food of their own.

MONTESACRO introduces pinsa, a modern take on an ancient flatbread once prepared by peasants living outside Rome’s imperial walls
Today you can enjoy a taste of this ancient tradition among other dishes inspired by Roman cuisine at MONTESACRO, the first stateside pinseria offering a modern take on pinsa made with a blend of rice, soy and wheat flour imported directly from Rome, all GMO-free.
Our pinsa dough is low-fat, low-calorie and easy to digest.
